It’s culinary season again in the City of Miami Gardens, and this year’s third Annual Miami Gardens Wine & Food Experience (MGWFE) is stepping it up a few notches by confirming Miami’s culinary favorite, Michelle Bernstein, as this year’s headliner. Inspired and presented by the City of Miami Gardens and Councilwoman Lisa C. Davis, this year’s experience is truly a celebration and showcase of South Florida’s indisputable food culture through the lens of award-winning and breakout chefs, artisanal food, specialty wines, and beverage innovators. And that’s exactly what you can expect with Michelle Bernstein headlining MGWFE and co-hosting the Master Chef Cook-off alongside New York’s, Chef Roble. Both bring diversity, loads of flavor, and plenty of personality to the experience.
“I’m a foodie at heart, Michelle Bernstein is one of my favorite chefs, and I love watching her show,” shares Councilwoman Lisa C. Davis. “So it’s an absolute pleasure to be able to see my vision grow in this third year and to set the bar for an authentic experience that culinary fans, wine connoisseurs, and cultural enthusiasts can really appreciate. We’ve had a successful two years, and in this third year my goal is to showcase the diversity of what food and culture means throughout South Florida.”
Michelle Bernstein has a long list of accolades to bring to the table. A James Beard Award Winner (Best Chef South 2008), restaurateur, and host of the weekly “SoFlaTaste” TV series on Channel 10 and of the weekly Emmy award-winning series “Check, Please! South Florida” on PBS, Bernstein’s culinary style blends amazing ingredients, layered flavors, and simplicity. Her dishes are more about simple, soulful cooking and less about heavy-handed techniques and over the top presentations. Not to mention that her Jewish and Latin backgrounds adds additional flavors to her dishes.
Attendees of the Miami Gardens Wine & Food Experience can expecting a Grand Tasting tent with dozens of restaurants, the Master Chef Cook-off hosted and judged by Michelle Bernstein and Chef Roble, the Sweet Freaks Dessert Competition for your sweet tooth fix as well as plenty of wine, beer, and spirits in the Wine Boutique, Urban Beer Garden, and Cigar & Whiskey Bar.
